The Great Braidburn Bake Off

Well done and a massive thanks to all our incredible Braidburn Bakers!
Thank you to everyone who participated; our young people, the Nursery, the Class Teams, the NHS and Braidburn staff, and of course our parents.
The Braidburn Bake off gave us the opportunity to showcase the fantastic skills and creativity in our school Community.

30 wonderful creations and beautiful bakes!

This year’s Star Baker went to Eilidh Angus in Forth Class for her DAY OF THE DEAD skull cake.
She took home the new Bake Off Trophy, and won her class a Festive Cake and Hot Chocolate outing.

The adult Star Baker was one of our new PSA’s Wioletta for her truly astonishing THREE TIER HALLOWEEN SHOW STOPPER.
We may see Wioletta on the Great British bake Off…

Congratulations to everyone!

Next week we look forward to the GREAT BRAIDBURN BAKE OFF on Friday 1st November. Everyone really enjoyed this special event last year. Again, we will have the opportunity to view some creative designs and taste some wonderful baking. Please feel free to send in a cake, biscuits or another piece of baking! Our children, young people, staff and NHS colleagues will have the opportunity to bake, view, sample and vote on all the entries.

Outdoor Learning

We were delighted to team up with The Conservation Volunteers last week to run two outdoor learning sessions in Colinton Dell.

At the sessions, pupils from Purple Class and Clyde Class worked together collecting wood to build a fire to toast marshmallows and make popcorn. Other activities included crafting boats to sail down the river, creating clay faces using natural objects to place on trees and going on a bug hunt. The pupils had a brilliant time, and the cold weather did not dampen their enthusiasm!

Family Ceilidh

All pupils, families and friends of Braidburn are warmly invited to join us for our Family Ceilidh on Friday 2nd March from 7-9pm.

This is always a fantastic event with Columcile Ceilidh Band once again leading the dancing and providing the music. There will also be a buffet so that we can all refuel halfway through! With thanks to our Parent Council, this event will also be free of charge.

I look forward to seeing you all there!
