Dear Parents and Carers
As you will be aware, there have been a small number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 within our school. A further case has been confirmed today and we have now taken the difficult decision, under guidance from NHS Lothian, to close our Nursery and Primary departments. This is a temporary measure to minimise risk of further transmission of the virus across our school community.
Our Nursery and Primary departments will close with immediate effect and will reopen on 6 October. Our Secondary Department is currently unaffected and will remain open.
The Coronavirus pandemic presents an unprecedented challenge for the delivery of our service. During this time, with such stringent measures in place to minimise the spread of the virus, we will do our very best to support aspects of the curriculum for our Nursery and Primary learners where we can. Our teaching staff will remain in close contact with all parents and carers throughout this period of school closure, and we will do our utmost to support all our families in keeping our children learning at this time.
Please be assured that enhanced cleaning measures are in place and our building will be cleaned by means of electrostatic technology, in line with our planned cleaning schedule, prior to our Primary children returning to school.
Stay safe and well
Warm wishes
Cat Weir
